Reflection by Mary E. Latela, 4/3/16
In the States, there is a great deal of anger, mostly around the upcoming elections – next November. So many people are being convinced that a new Pres. will boldly, forcefully cure America. If I were in that crowd, I’d be rather miffed that the loudest voices are engaged in making promises, promises, without anything substantial to offer.
Also, the level of personal animosity is off-putting. Not for children or for adults who want to sleep at night, breathe normally during the day, and resist falling into a fatalistic view of life. Goodness, I’ve known some down times, but this is not one of them.
Mending the world …. doesn’t that mean that we are in quilting mode, working together, helping in small ways, keeping confidence, and practice – oh, perhaps once a day – acting with compassion and courage!
I’d love to hear from you if this resonates. This is a nearly completed reconstruction of my earlier blog, called “I’ll Tell You When I’m Ready” which will cover many topics, including family secrets, healing from abuse, making our way with resolve, and enjoying some lovely writing. Peace!
